Strengthening democratic resilience of key public institutions in Ukraine

Objectives:
The main goal is to increase transparency and independence of key regulatory and judiciary institutions as well as transparency and financial stability of the biggest state-owned enterprises and local governments in Ukraine. This will be done by transferring the Slovak know-how in following areas:
- Evaluation of independence of at least 15 regulatory and judiciary institutions;
- Evaluation of transparency and financial health of at least 50 biggest public enterprises;
- Evaluation of transparency and financial health of at least 50 biggest cities and 22 regions.
The evaluations will lead to specific recommendations how to foster independence and transparency of key institutions. The publicity of evaluations, together with the expert advice and sharing the best practices will strengthen incentives and conditions necessary for successful implementation of recommendations and anti-corruption measures. This will help to increase transparency and democratic resilience of institutions evaluated under the program.
