We are carefully and with concern monitoring current developments in Ukraine and Russia. INEKO supports Ukraine in its democratization and rather sooner joining the European Union. Slovakia offers good example how useful such changes are for the life of citizens. Moreover, the Ukraine integration into the EU would be an important economic impulse for Slovakia and particularly for its eastern regions. We hope that the process would be peaceful and supported by vast majority of population. We also would like to express strong opposition to Russian military intervention in Crimea which we find inappropriate and threatening the European security.
