The Slovak association of economic analysts ( KEA ) came into existence in May 2002. Its members are economic analysts from both private and public sectors such as commercial banks, universities, research institutes, as well as other academic and non-profit organizations. The members agreed to keep the membership in case there are changes in the careers such as public service in the government.

The ambition of KEA is to support good economic policy through discussions with decision makers, research seminars and media. KEA will also try to enhance the quality of economic discussions in Slovakia.

MEETINGS / OTHER NOTES:

Meeting with the central bank governor Mr. Makúch will take place on March 11, 2010 at 16.00 in UCB building. The main subject is the new challenges for the new governor.

Meeting with the Deputy Finance Minister Kažimír will take place on April 28, 2009 at 16.00. The main subject is anti-crisis fiscal measures and the state budget development.

Meeting with the Deputy Finance Minister takes place on February 28, 2008 at 16.00. The main subject is euro and the government spending priorities.

Meeting with the central bank governor Mr. Šramko will take place on February 7, 2008 at 16.00 in ING building. The main subject is euro and the monetary policy.

There will be meeting about social security reform. The presentations will be done by Mr. Sulik, advisor to the Minister of Social Affairs; Mr. Marcincin, World Bank economist for Slovakia; and Mr. Palenik , Slovak Academy of Sciencies. The meeting will take place on March 29, 2006, at 16.30 in World Bank building.

Meeting with Mr. Sulik, advisor to the Minister of Social Affairs about social security reform will take place on January 17, 2006, at 16.00 in ING building.

Meeting with the CB Board member Karol Mrva is scheduled for 3 March 2005 at 4.00 pm in ING Bank building. The main topics to be discussed are optimal monetary policy of the central bank, Slovak exchange-rate regime, central bank interventions and foreign reserves.

Meeting with the Education Minister Martin Fronc and the chief author of the university education reform Peter Mederly will take place on 3 February 2005 at 4.00 pm in ING Bank building.
The introduction will be university education reform.

Members of KEA approved Mr. Pätoprstý and Mr. Chudík as new members.

Meeting with Vladimír Tvaroška, the Deputy Finance Minister over 2005 state budget will take place on 11 March 2004 at 4.00 pm in ING Bank building.

Meeting with the Hungarian reformer Mr. Bokros is scheduled for 9 September 2003 at 4.00 pm in ING Bank building.

Meeting with Vladimír Tvaroška, the Deputy Finance Minister over 2004 state budget will take place on 21 August 2003 at 4.00 pm ING Bank building.

Meeting with the WB consultant at Slovak MinFin– Meeting will take place on 25 June 2003 at 4.00 pm, the topic to be discussed is a new macroeconomic model of the Slovak economy

Meeting with Vladimír Tvaroška, the Deputy Finance Minister– State budgets for the years 2003 and 2004 will be discussed at the meeting

Meeting with Miroslav Beblavý, the Deputy Minister of Social Affairs will be held in WB building . The topic will cover social reforms.

Meeting with František Tóth, Deputy Education Minister– Elementary education reform will be discussed at the meeting

Meeting with Peter Ševčovič, executive director for monetary policy – Meeting is scheduled for 29 November 2004 at 2.00 pm and will cover monetary policy issues.

Meeting with Vladimír Tvaroška, the Deputy Finance Minister–meeting over the state budget will take place on 12 November 2004

Meeting with Milan Murgaš, economic expert for SMER party. SMER economic policy to be discussed on July 24, 2002 in ING Bank building.

Meeting with Marián Jusko, Slovak central bank governor. Slovak monetary policy and exchange rate issues to be discussed on June 18, 2002 in ING Bank building.

Meeting with Ivan Mikloš, Deputy Prime Minister for Economy. The economy policy of the Dzurinda government will be discussed on June 10, 2002 in ING Bank building.
